take the night to an open road.

what happens when you spend two weeks in the land of maple syrup and pastries, you end up about a stone heavier (pretty sure they were going to make me book two seats on the way home)

thats right folks i went on a family newman adventure to canada (french canada to be exact as i know you like all the facts)

this post (and the next few) will be pretty long and picture heavy so grab yourself a tea and a croissant just for good measure.

i'll start with a little back story (told you it was going to be long) 

as you all know i am a lady with many many cousins, well my cousin j met a beautiful lady called m on his travels many years ago and moved to montreal and married her. shortly after j moved his brother b decided to join him in canada and now lives in quebec.

papa n likes for us to go on holiday and visit family and friends so we can have our own personal tour guides and he decided it was about time that went adventured to canada.

just a quick note to say this was on of the best burgers i have eveeerrrr had, if you are ever in quebec take a trip to chic shack, plus they have nice lights and jam jar mugs which are all good things in my book.

chocolats favoris a confectionary shop but also has the best ice cream invention EVER, you chose your ice cream and then they dip you ice-cream in melted chocolate which you can also chose the flavour of. oh my laawwwdddd it was incredible, i seriously want one right now. 

most of our time was spent exploring the city and eating (allot) but on our last night we managed to get tickets for cirque du soleil, it only seemed fitting as quebec was the city it was started in. the show was incredible and i won't lie i was humming the tunes all the way home.

now a newman holiday never seems to be normal, this one was no exception. our hotel (well apartment) owner informed us that the what looked like a bar underneath our room was infact a burlesque club to be opened in 2015. 

i tell you what though he sure knew how to make a cracking breakfast: crepe, croissant, fresh fruit with maple syrup and home made jam every morning. if only i could have it for more than a week!

also being the incredibly pale being that i am i burnt my scalp and had to make a little hat purchase in urban outfitters.

thats right i'm back to clogging up your computer screen with all my pictures of food and pretty buildings on a regular basis (and a bit of my face, just a bit)  

i seem to have arrived at boden during alllll the events, we had a staff meal last week and yesterday i went to the annual summer party, social butterfly me, eh (this is a rarity as we all know)

the party was held at stowe school, the girls from the store and i felt like rowdy children invading a very posh school, which we basically were... 

after a little talk from jonnie himself at the beginning of the day, there was a day filled with lounging in the sun, serious bumper car battles, food, drinks, beautiful walks and some more food.

basically a lovely day that resulted in my version of a tan (so not really) and a serious food baby!

i have to say i was particularly fond of the unlimited mr whippy's from the ice cream van and bumper car battles (think i may have got some serious bruises....)

if you ever have the chance to visit the school it is seriously beautiful and the food is divine.

sorry for the radio silence i've had a bit of a crazy month but to summarise the good bits i now live in london with jay and work full time as a sales assistant at boden! plus i found out today that i am grouting with a 2:1!

today i went for a little wander round notting hill with one of my favourite ladies S, which resulted in lots of house envy (good lawd there are some amazing places to live), food and silliness, basically perfection. 

we actually started in spitalfields (what a surprise) and had lunch at the tiniest italian, i will get the name off S and get back to you as it is so worth a visit. after it coming to light that i had never been to notting hill i was marched off to the tube and the shenanigans began.

i promise to be a better blogger from now on, pinky swear!

last weekend family newman went on a little trip up to norfolk.

last week was a pretty busy week for birthdays in our family with mine, papa's and my cousin H's all within one week (H and i were both 21, just add 30 for papa..)

for once i didn't celebrate my birthday with fancy dress, so H did the honours this year!

on the sunday morning, slightly hungover i ventured to the beach with my younger cousins P and G (who aren't that young anymore, i mean G drives!!) and G's lovely girlfriend!

being by the sea is one of my favourite things, doesn't matter how cold and windy it is i will be there with a bloody massive smile on my face (just get weirder don't i!)

after eating many maaany snacks on the beach we wondered round the woods to get back to the car, now i'm going to get all nerdy on you here but oh my gaaad the light in the woods was absolutely beautiful, that perfect soft, bokeh kinda light that i could photograph for hours in!

i seriously want to go back and do a shoot there, probably with P as she is such a beautiful little one!

i brought these trousers a few years ago but have only just fallen back in love with them, its like wearing my pj's acceptably outside and any clothing that feels like that is a okay in my book!
